Most memorable - The Scorpions, Wind of Change, in an italian restaurant on the waterfront in Ton Sai town on Phi Phi - the waitress was singing along as she brought our pizzas.

We arrived on Ko Phi Phi on the ferry from Phuket town last night. The main town here is a scary tourist mess, definitely catering to the backpacker crowd. Touts everywhere. The island is physically just beautiful. High limestone ciffs, sandy beaches crammed into some of the spaces between the cliffs and the sea, many accessible only by boat.

Our first stop in Thailand is the island province of Phuket. It’s home to the international airport and also the jumping off point for the ferry to our first “real” destination; Koh Phi Phi (idyllic island east of Phuket in the Andaman Sea). Since we are soon to hit one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, we took the Lonely Planet’s advice and stayed in Phuket Town instead of at the beach. Great decision.

We’re getting this started a few days into our trip. It’s already our last day on Ko Phi Phi. I’m looking our our bungalow window at Caitlin reading on the beach. There’s a dog napping beside her - haven’t seen him before. There are a lot of cats on the island though.
So we’re backdating some of these posts (including this one, which should be appearing first in order) to try and make the posts flow correctly.
